Cancelled: "Protectionism and the Future of Transatlantic Relations"

Event postponed due to illness: WU matters. WU talks. - Keynote by Sigmar Gabriel
Sigmar Gabriel, Dorothee Bohle and Gabriel Felbermayr would have discussed the future of transatlantic relations with Hannelore Veit at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (Library & Learning Center Festsaal 1) on 26 March 2025 at 18:00. Due to illness, the event had to be cancelled at short notice. A new date will be communicated as soon as possible.

The administration of the USA is increasingly putting into question the USA's trade relations with its North American neighbors and with Europe, turning away from the principles of the World Trade Organization and the UN. Will this mark the end of the economic world order as we know it? How should Europe position itself in a multipolar world dominated by the USA, China, and Russia? How can Europe safeguard its economic interests in this complex global environment? And what are the resulting threats and opportunities? The event will be held in English.
