Priv.-Doz. Dr. Ulrike Famira-Mühlberger, PhD

Ulrike Famira-Mühlberger has been working as a Senior Economist in the WIFO Research Group ‘Labour Economics, Income and Social Security’ since 2007. From October 2019 to August 2023, she was Deputy Director of WIFO with a focus on external coordination. Her research focuses on economic long-term care research, the interfaces between the labour market and social affairs and the socio-economic effects of an ageing population. Ulrike Famira-Mühlberger holds a PhD in social and political sciences from the European University Institute in Florence and a doctorate in economics from the University of Economics and Business in Vienna, where she also habilitated. Before joining WIFO, she worked for four years as a university assistant at the University of Economics and Business  in Vienna in the field of labour economics, interspersed with research stays at Harvard University, the University of California - Berkeley, the Università degli Studi di Torino and the European University Institute in Florence.
