Die aktuelle Konjunktureinschätzung durch die Unternehmen wird von der COVID-19-Krise bestimmt. Nur in der Bauwirtschaft lagen
die Konjunkturindizes in der Oktober-Befragung im positiven Bereich. Die aktuelle Lage wurde in allen Branchen günstiger beurteilt
als in der letzten Befragung. Die WIFO-Konjunkturampel bestätigte dieses Bild, sie zeigt nach wie vor Grün. Dennoch ist die
Unsicherheit in allen Sektoren anhaltend hoch. Die Kapazitätsauslastung verbesserte sich durchwegs, ist aber weiterhin niedrig.
Der "Mangel an Nachfrage" wurde im Oktober von den Unternehmen als das wichtigste Hemmnis für ihre Tätigkeit genannt.

The COVID-19 Pandemic Determines Business Confidence. Results of the WIFO-Konjunkturtest Quarterly Survey of October 2020
According to the WIFO-Konjunkturtest (business cycle survey) of October current economic assessments were still determined
by the COVID-19 crisis. In the construction industry alone, the economic indices were already positive. Economic assessments
have improved in all sectors. The WIFO-Konjunkturampel (economic traffic light) confirms this improvement and remains green.
However, uncertainty is still at above-average levels in all sectors. Capacity utilisation rose in all sectors compared to
July but remains at low level. Companies see the "lack of demand" as the most important obstacle to their activity.
