22nd EUROFRAME Conference

Call for Papers – Deadline: 16 March 2026
The EUROFRAME group of research institutes (CASE, CPB, DIW Berlin, ESRI, ETLA, IfW Kiel, NIESR, OFCE, PROMETEIA, WIFO) will hold its twenty-second annual Conference on Economic Policy Issues in Europe on 12 June 2026 in The Hague (hosted by CPB).

Europe faces several overlapping transitions that are reshaping its economies. Growth in Europe is lagging behind that of the USA and China. At the same time, it faces growing needs for defence and deterrence. Structural challenges such as the green transition, demographic change, the shift from manufacturing to services, and the rise of new technologies continue to demand significant economic adaptations and policy choices.

For the 22nd EUROFRAME Conference, we seek both empirical and theoretical policy-relevant papers. Areas of interest include but are not limited to:

  • Design of national and European industrial policy
  • Transition to services, and the role of manufacturing and heavy industry
  • Defence industry and procurement
  • Role of public investments in industrial policy
  • Financial institutions, capital markets, and EU capital markets union
  • International trade, fragmentation, protectionism, and strategic autonomy
  • Economic growth, dynamism, and competitiveness
  • Robots, AI, and the impact on productivity
  • Green transition
  • Demographic change including migration

Submissions (draft papers or extended abstracts) should be submitted by e-mail by 16 March 2026 to euroframe.conference@ofce.sciences-po.fr
