Die "Europaverträge" der EG mit Ost-Mitteleuropa sind ein wichtiger Schritt zur Einbeziehung dieser Region in den europäischen
Freihandel. Sowohl der Zeitvorsprung der EG gegenüber der EFTA als auch verschiedene "technische" Probleme (vor allem im Bereich
der Ursprungsregelung) könnten die Marktstellung Österreichs in Ost-Mitteleuropa beeinträchtigen.

The "European Agreements" of the EC with the countries of East Central Europe (Hungary, CSFR and Poland) mark an important
step towards integrating this region into European free trade. The time lead of the EC vis-à-vis EFTA as well as various "technical"
problems (particularly concerning the rules of origin) may weaken the Austrian market position in East Central Europe.
