Policy Review of R&I on Access to Affordable and Good-quality Housing: Evidence from the EU
Existing evidence from academic research on policies that promote access to affordable and good quality housing in the EU will be reviewed. Relevant policy instruments include rent control, housing allowances, social housing supply, taxing vacant dwellings, energy saving measures in dwellings, renovation, mortgage interest deduction, mortgage interest rates, etc. It will also focus on the distributional aspects (e.g., access and affordability) and cost-effectiveness of selected housing policies. The research questions will be addressed through a scoping review of the literature and selected case studies from EU member countries.
