Der Tourismus ist für Tirol ein wichtiger Wirtschaftsfaktor: Laut dem von Statistik Austria und WIFO entwickelten regionalen
Tourismus-Satellitenkonto beliefen sich die Gesamtaufwendungen für Urlaubs- und Geschäftsreisen, Verwandten- und Bekanntenbesuche
sowie Aufenthalte an Zweitwohnsitzen und in Wochenendhäusern 2018 auf 8.332 Mio. €. Davon entfielen 76,4% auf ausländische
Besucher und Besucherinnen, 23,4% auf inländische Reisende und 0,2% auf die Ausgaben im Zuge des Aufenthaltes in Zweitwohnungen.
Die durch den Tourismus in Tirol direkt erwirtschaftete Wertschöpfung machte einschließlich geschäftlicher Reisen 2018 5.215
Mio. € und einen Anteil am Bruttoregionalprodukt von 14,9% aus. Zusammen mit den indirekten Effekten trug der Tourismus 2018
19,7% zur regionalen Wirtschaftsleistung Tirols bei. Zudem waren im Bundesland 2018 unmittelbar 51.600 Vollzeitstellen den
charakteristischen Tourismusindustrien zurechenbar (14,6% an der Gesamtbeschäftigung). Über alle Wirtschaftsbereiche hinweg
hingen direkt und indirekt 68.600 Vollzeitäquivalente bzw. 19,4% aller Arbeitsplätze in Tirol mit dem Tourismus zusammen.

A Regional Tourism Satellite Account for Tyrol. Initial Implementation for 2018
The tourism industry is an important economic factor for Tyrol: according to the regional tourism satellite account developed
by Statistics Austria and WIFO, in 2018 total spending on vacation and business trips, visits of relatives and friends, as
well as stays at secondary residences and weekend homes added up to 8,332 million €. Of this amount, 76.4 percent was accounted
for by foreign visitors, 23.4 percent by domestic travellers, and 0.2 percent was spent in the course of staying in second
homes. In 2018, value added generated directly by tourism activities in Tyrol, including business travel, came up to 5,215
million € and thereby accounted for a share in the gross regional product of 14.9 percent. The total value-added effects of
tourism in Tyrol contributed 19.7 percent to the regional economic output. Moreover, 51,600 full-time jobs (FTE based on employees
and self-employed persons) in the state can be attributed directly to typical tourism industries (share of 14.6 percent in
total employment). Across all economic sectors 68,600 full-time equivalents or 19.4 percent of all jobs (FTE) in Tyrol were
linked to the tourism industry in 2018.
