A Glimpse into Economic Research: Daughter's Day at WIFO

WIFO is participating at the Vienna Daughter's Day again this year.
The Vienna Daughter's Day will take place on 25 April 2019. WIFO will also participate again this year. Girls between the ages of 14 and 16 who are interested in the daily work of an economic researcher can now register for the workshop "How Value is Created – From Wheat Grain to Kaisersemmel".

The workshop, led by economic researchers Franz Sinabell and Fabian Unterlass and accompanied by WIFO deputy director Margit Schratzenstaller, is dedicated to the topic of "value creation". In the workshop "From Wheat Grain to Kaisersemmel" the girls will find out how goods and values are created. From the seed to the bread roll at the breakfast table, all the required steps will be followed. Girls will get to know the people who create these values, and together with the girls we will also think about what will be destroyed if good food is simply thrown away. The only prerequisite for participation in the workshop is a basic interest in the topic "environment and circular  economy".
