zwischen Entwicklungsniveau und Direktinvestitionsposition läßt sich vereinfacht durch einen Entwicklungszyklus erfassen.
Von der Landesgröße hängen zwar die ausländischen Direktinvestitionen im Inland, nicht jedoch die eigenen Direktinvestitionen
im Ausland ab.

The exposure of a country to foreign investment depends inter alia on its size and its level of development. The connection
between economic development and foreign investment exposure can be modelled by a cyclical pattern. Country size is an explanatory
variable for foreign investment in the domestic market, but not for a country's direct investment abroad.
