1993 war für die Land- und Forstwirtschaft neuerlich ein besonders schwieriges Jahr. Die stagnierende Produktion und sinkende
Agrarpreise bedeuteten eine Abnahme des Rohertrags, die Agrareinkommen fielen zurück. Wie in den zwei Jahren zuvor waren auch
1993 alle wichtigen Produktionsgebiete vom Ertragsrückgang betroffen. Die größten Einbußen erlitten das Burgenland und Kärnten.
Die regionalen Unterschiede waren überdurchschnittlich durch Standorteinflüsse geprägt.

1993 was a disappointing year for agriculture and forestry. Production stagnated at a low level, agricultural prices sank,
and transfers were lower than in the preceding year. As a result, gross value added and net value added decreased. In view
of poor results in the preceding two years, the negative development in 1993 takes on added significance.
