Nach dem Bauboom 2006 (real +3,8%) prognostizieren die im Forschungsnetzwerk Euroconstruct vertretenen europäischen Länder
eine Abschwächung des realen Wachstums in der Bauwirtschaft. Im Jahr 2007 stieg das reale Bauvolumen um 2%, für 2008 bis 2010
wird eine weitere Verlangsamung des Wachstums auf 1½% erwartet. Die Wachstumsverlangsamung trifft vor allem Westeuropa (+1%
p.a.), während die Bauwirtschaft in Ost-Mitteleuropa boomt (+8½% p.a.). Große Bauvorhaben vor allem in der Verkehrsinfrastruktur
mit mittelfristigem Planungshorizont sichern 2008 bis 2010 dem Sektor in Österreich ein überdurchschnittliches Wachstum (+2½%
p.a.).

European Construction Industry will Experience Slower Growth Rates until 2010
In 2006, the boom in the construction industry contributed substantially to the economic upswing in Europe. After an annually
growth rate of 3.8 percent in real terms in 2006, the pace of new construction slowed down in 2007 (+2.0 percent) throughout
the 19 Euroconstruct countries in 2007. Between 2008 and 2010 the industry's growth is expected to decelerate markedly, to
1.5 percent p.a.
