Research and Technology Report 2018

Innovation expert Jürgen Janger presented the Research and Technology Report 2018 to the Parliament's Research Committee.
The Research and Technology Report 2018, which assesses the interim status of the FTI strategy on the basis of important FTI indicators, was debated in the Research Committee on 14 November – innovation researcher Jürgen Janger was invited as an expert.

In the presence of Education Minister Heinz Faßmann and Transport Minister Norbert Hofer, the 2018 Research and Technology Report (FTB) was discussed in Parliament's Committee on Research, Innovation and Digitisation on 14 November.

In his statement, Jürgen Janger, innovation expert and deputy director at WIFO, emphasised innovation as part of competitive strategies. He focused primarily on the perspective of companies, which was surveyed in a study. The study showed that there is still a clear backlog in the integration of digital technologies into business processes in Austria. The companies were basically satisfied with the public research funding, whereby the research premium was also assessed positively. Companies see shortcomings in the availability of non-academic and academic specialists and, to some extent, in apprenticeship training.
