Turnaround in the Real Estate Market

Listing Data Highlights Slump in Demand in Austria
Austria's residential real estate market took a clear turn in 2022. After several years of practically uninterrupted price growth, there have been signs of price stagnation for the first time since the early summer of last year, and at the turn of the year even of initial price declines.

To gauge the possibility of future developments, this Research Brief attempts to provide a narrative on the background of the current upheaval on the Austrian residential property market. By using extensive listing data from the portal immoscout24.at, it is also possible to flesh out the main drivers that will continue to determine the real estate market in Austria in the coming months.
