WIFO Expertise in the Austrian Fiscal Advisory Council
Serguei Kaniovski, Hans Pitlik, Margit Schratzenstaller and Thomas Url Appointed for New Term
The members of the Austrian Fiscal Advisory Council will continue to use the expertise of WIFO in their new term until 2025. At the constituent meeting on 20 November 2019, Serguei Kaniovski was appointed to the committee for the first time. Hans Pitlik, Margit Schratzenstaller and Thomas Url were reappointed.
The Fiscal Advisory Council is an independent body whose members 15 public finance experts do not take instructions from others. The meetings of the Fiscal Advisory Council are also attended by representatives of the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB) and the Parliamentary Budget Office as well as other public finance experts. The OeNB supports the Council by running its secretariat.
