South Korean Research Council Visits WIFO
"The South Korean council coordinates the research of more than 50 state-funded non-university research institutes in the fields of economics, humanities and social sciences to address major challenges such as the ageing of society, changes in the international economic and security framework, advances in Industry 4.0 and AI technologies, and climate change", said Chung Kwon, head of the delegation.
These topics were also at the centre of the exchange between WIFO and NRC, as were WIFO's operation and opportunities for cooperation. The delegation recognised how high WIFO's research output is in relation to the available human resources and how well the results are represented in the media.
The National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences, founded in 1999, has been instrumental in developing key policies and visions for economic growth and social development in the Republic of Korea.
