"Rewriting the Rules of the European Economy"

Nobel Prize Winner Joseph Stiglitz Presents New Report
In his latest publication "Rewriting the Rules of the European Economy", US economist and Nobel Prize winner Joseph Stiglitz calls for a fundamental change in European economic policy. On 22 May, Stiglitz, together with WIFO Deputy Director and co-author Margit Schratzenstaller, will present the core theses of the report at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. The event is hosted by the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) and the Renner Institute.

In his recent report for FEPS, Joseph Stiglitz outlines a new set of rules for economic, political, and social governance in Europe that would help to recast a prosperous and equitable EU marked by peace and solidarity within the context of globalization. To improve economic performance and create shared prosperity, the rules of the European economy – broadly understood the fundamental policies governing the EU – must be rewritten.
