17th Geoffrey J.D. Hewings Regional Economics Workshop

Hans Koster (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) held the keynote speech on "The Persistence of Urban Decline".

20 further presentations centred on current research and new methodological approaches from regional economics and spatial modelling, which were presented and discussed in a collegial yet academically rigorous environment. The workshop fostered exchange between PhD students, post-docs and established academics, and offered numerous opportunities for future collaboration.

This joint event successfully continued the long-standing tradition of the Geoffrey J.D. Hewings Workshop and was complemented by close integration with the summer conference of the GfR. WIFO would like to thank all contributors and participants for their dedicated contributions and the inspiring exchange of ideas.
