"Evaluative Discrimination": Job Evaluation as a Blind Spot in the Analysis of the Gender Pay Gap

On 12 October 2022, Ute Klammer from the Institute for Work, Skills and Training (IAQ) at the University of Duisburg-Essen presented the "Comparable Worth Index" at the WIFO Research Seminar.
Using this index it is possible for the first time to identify equivalent occupational demands and burdens. This index evaluates these occupational challenges using four groups of criteria – knowledge or skills, psychosocial demands, physical demands and, responsibility. WIFO economist Christine Mayrhuber provided a short comment on the presentation.
