Municipal Structural Reform and Inter-municipal Cooperation
In the debate on the reform of public administration and of the system of federal fiscal relations it is often argued that small-scale structures impede the effective accomplishment of municipal tasks. Austria has a comparatively high number of smaller communities which supposedly do not have the minimum economic size required for an effective provision of services.
