Die Wiener "Creative Industries" im Spannungsfeld von Technologie- und Kulturpolitik (Creative Industries in Vienna: At the Interchange of Technology Policy and Cultural Policy)
Die "Creative Industries" umfassen eine Vielzahl sehr heterogener Wirtschaftszweige, die an der Schnittstelle zwischen Kultur
und Kommerz angesiedelt sind. Insbesondere in Ballungsgebieten mit ausgeprägt urbanem und künstlerischem Milieu knüpfen sich
große Hoffnungen an diese Branchen als Wirtschaftsfaktor und Arbeitgeber. Durch ein hohes Maß an Interdisziplinarität mit
den traditionellen Wirtschaftsbereichen ist die dynamische Entwicklung der Kreativwirtschaft sehr stark an die Einführung
neuer Technologien gekoppelt bzw. an die Fähigkeit der einzelnen Unternehmen, sich diese anzueignen.

The creative industries in Vienna constitute a highly heterogeneous sector, spawning products at the crossroads between arts,
business and technology. They obtain their relevance for technology policy not so much through their contribution towards
generating new technological knowledge but rather through the substantial knowledge and technology transfer originating from
them. Pronounced cluster structures and internal interlinkages as well as a high degree of interdisciplinarity between traditional
business sectors and the creative industries have turned this relatively young business into an excellent prospect for Vienna's
employment policy.
