The Contribution of Austrian Universities to Inventive Activity by Companies
The analysis of patent applications from Austrian higher education institutions shows that both the volume of patent applications and the number of players has increased significantly. The networking of universities and companies in inventive activities has gained in importance. This is reflected on the one hand in more extensive cooperation activities and on the other hand in the increased perception of the contribution of the Austrian higher education sector to the development of the state of the art in inventions made by companies in and outside Austria.
