The Unemplyment Rate Recalculated

Starting from January 1993, the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs publishes a new monthly series for the rate of unemployment, using a different method. The article reviews and analyses the two unemployment statistics available for Austria and their differences and gives the reasons for the implementation of the new series.
