BERIO – A Small-scale Input-Output and Emissions Model of the Austrian Economy
This report describes the derivation of a regionally and sectorally highly disaggregated input-output table; the regional level is represented by the Austrian districts, the sectoral level is a mixture of NACE two and three-digit industries, resulting in a total of 157 industries in 94 districts. For these regional industries the main economic indicators are estimated (production value, value added, employment, investment), the structures and regional origin of the input factors, as well as sectoral emissions. This input-output table forms the basis for BERIO, a static regional input-output model. A short analysis of the Austrian automotive sector is presented as an example for possible applications.
