Stagnating Economic Output and Still High Inflation

According to Statistics Austria, Austria's economic output stagnated again in the first quarter of 2023, continuing the economic weakness observed since mid-2022. The decline in gross value added at basic prices in some service sectors and in industry had a particularly dampening effect. Leading indicators point to continued weak development, especially in manufacturing and industry-related sectors.
