Employment Multipliers and the Filling of Jobs in Austria
With DYNK, a disaggregated macroeconomic model of the Austrian economy developed by WIFO, value added and employment multiples for different final demand categories are calculated. The employment effects are presented separately for self-employed and employed persons via the employment multiplier; for the group of employed persons a further differentiation is made according to age and gender as well as secured or newly created jobs. For the newly created jobs, the Vacancy-Chain approach using the Markov model is used to determine the number of necessary entrants to persons and their distribution among individual groups of persons relevant to the labour market.
