Changes in the Export Structure in Austria and the EU

In the past decade trade in manufactured goods has experienced a rise in developing economies. China especially has seen its world market share in the trade of complex industrial products rising dramatically, whereas those of some industrialised economies have fallen. In this product category world market shares of the EU 27 countries have declined less drastically than those of the USA or Japan, the result, in part, of a reallocation of market shares within the EU away from major industrialised countries such as the UK towards new member countries.
