In the six years before dependently employed persons retire on an (occupational) invalidity pension they typically consult doctors more frequently, are prescribed more medication more often and tend to stay in hospital more frequently. In order to pick up early warning signs and possibly prevent invalidity pensions it will be practical to use consultations, drug consumption and hospital spells as advance indicators.
