Climate and Energy Model Regions: Effects on the energy system and on the (regional) economy
Since 2009, the Austrian Climate and Energy Fund supports the development of "Climate and Energy Model Regions" (KEMs). By now, 112 KEMs have been initiated. As of summer 2014, information on the activities to increase energy efficiency and the share of renewable energies that covers several years is available for 22 KEMs. This study will carry out the following research steps: screening and systematic documentation of all information available for the 22 KEMs, simulation of the possible effects of the (planned) measures to increase energy efficiency and the share of renewable energy sources in the energy system, and simulation of potential economic effects of the (planned) measures.
