The Economic Impact of Metrology and Geodesy Services
The calibration and surveying sector provides the basic metrological infrastructure and reliable geoinformation. It provides complex services that are essential for the functioning of an economy and that are less noticed by the public the more reliably they are provided and the less trouble the processes they support cause. This report updates the study from 2021 and examines the functions and tasks as well as the public added value of the services provided by the calibration and surveying system. The focus is on the institutionalised formation of trust as the basis for the co-ordination of numerous economic activities and transactions.
