Skilled Labour Demand in Austria: Scenarios and Trends for 2030-2035

This study analyses the challenges and changes to Austria's labour market exacerbated by the pandemic and the conflict in Ukraine. These events are accelerating digitalisation and ecological transformation, while demographic factors such as the retirement of the baby boomer generation are intensifying the demand for skilled labour. The study examines the future development of skilled labour requirements up to 2035, identifies the necessary competencies and analyses labour market conditions using a multi-perspective, multi-method approach. The results are presented as quantitative and qualitative findings at sector level, culminating in recommendations for meeting the demand for skilled labour.
