The goal of climate neutrality also affects the heat supply in cities. The focus is on the decarbonization of heat generation in urban areas and the question of how a heat transition can be designed effectively and resource-efficiently. The challenges associated with the conversion of heat generation systems are manifold. At the stakeholder level, there are questions of coordination and cooperation between different groups of stakeholders. From the owners' point of view, it is a question of financing and implementing the necessary modernisation measures. In order to smoothly transform existing districts into climate-neutral urban centers, specific political incentive systems are also required.

We are delighted to invite you to "'Energy in Discussion': Heating in Urban Areas", an event organised by Wien Energie and WIFO. The evening will begin with a keynote speech by Albana Ilo, Associate Professor of Electrical Energy Distribution Systems at the Vienna University of Technology, followed by a discussion with WIFO economist Daniela Kletzan-Slamanig and Michaela Deutsch, Head of Energy Services at Wien Energie. The social event will take place afterwards.
