Labour Market and Employment 2035: Insights for Austria

This project focuses on identifying occupational fields with a high degree of age concentration – that is, those occupational fields, occupational groups, and industries in which a considerable proportion of the workforce is projected to retire within the next ten years. Building on these findings, as well as on an analysis of the interactions between demographic, digitalisation-related, and ecological challenges, an updated assessment is provided of those occupational fields in which the aforementioned challenges – including the implications of artificial intelligence – are projected to become increasingly pronounced in the coming years and may potentially reinforce one another.
