Evaluation of the Integration Subsidy
Integration subsidy is one of the most important instruments of active labour market policy in Austria. It is a proven means of reintegrating unemployed persons into the primary labour market and is used in particular for the long-term unemployed and persons with placement barriers. Companies receive a temporary replacement for part of the wage costs, thus providing an incentive to hire unemployed persons. This reduces the risks associated with the suitability and productivity of these workers. The aim of the study is to develop a comprehensive analysis of the implementation and impact of integration subsidy in Austria and to refine it with regard to key control elements such as duration and amount, as well as the target group orientation of the support.
