Forecast of Employment, Unemployment Rate and Wage Bill by Länder and Regional Health Insurance Funds for the Years 2018, 2019 and 2020

Employment growth will be higher until 2019 in Styria and Tyrol, but in Carinthia – according to the long-term trend – employment will grow slower than in the Austrian average. The unemployment rate will decline in Lower Austria, the Burgenland, in Upper Austria and Salzburg less than in the other provinces and in Carinthia and Styria fall particularly strong. The projected growth of the wage bill subject to contributions by the regional health insurance funds will largely follow employment trends, so that over the entire period Tyrol and Styria will have the highest growth rates.
