EFTA Free Trade Agreements with Turkey and Israel
After the split-up of the USSR Turkey may become a focus of economic dynamism in the Black Sea area. A free trade agreement between EFTA and Turkey has taken effect as from April 1st, 1992. A similar treaty is to be negotiated by mid-1992 with Israel whereby trade discrimination of EFTA countries visà-à-vis the EC and the U. S. will be abolished.
