Evaluation ot the Austrian Forest Fund

The Forest Fund is a financing instrument to strengthen the sustainable management of Austrian forests and to promote innovations in the wood-based value chain. To this end, several measures have been set, two of which are interim evaluated in this report. These are measures 7 and 9, both of which are central elements of the Austrian Wood Initiative. Since the implementation of the first measures is not yet completed or the second one is just starting, this interim evaluation presents the composition of sub-measures, describes the governance process, the characteristics of the actors involved in the programme and assesses the functioning of the implementation process. The report concludes with a presentation of the findings and lessons that can be drawn from the implementation to date.
