Research Policy in Austria. Central Starting Points for Improving Performance in Basic Research
This report assesses the performance of the Austrian research system against three complementary policy objectives with a focus on basic research: performance in terms of research quality, the socio-economic impact of research, and the direction of research to address challenges. For all three dimensions, the report identifies areas for improvement and discusses – based on recent literature as well as international comparisons – starting points on how performance can be improved.
