Building Permits for New Housing Units in Austria. Summer Forecast 2017 and Regional Development 2011-2016

According to WIFO forecasts the number of building permits in 2017 will increase by 3.3 percent). As in the past, the number of permits for multi-storey buildings (+4.0 percent) grows faster than permits for one and two family houses (+2.0 percent). Although the generally high level of permits will be sustained, the number is expected to peak and decrease in 2018: growth of permits for multi-storey buildings should decrease by 1.3 percent, and also the number of permits for one and two family houses expects a moderate decline of 0.8 percent).
