Visualisation of the Austrian Care System: Challenges and Perspectives

A Data-driven Approach to Visualising and Analysing the Care Landscape in Austria

The study examines the fragmentation of the Austrian care system and highlights regional differences in the regulations for long-term care in the individual federal provinces. These lead to differences in the availability and intensity of care services. The study also discusses key projections regarding the increasing demand for care services due to demographic changes and the existing shortage of personnel in the care sector. The short study emphasises the necessity of comprehensive reforms, in particular a harmonisation of care services and increased coordination between political levels, in order to successfully meet long-term challenges.
