Cost Effects of the Energy Efficiency Act. Analysis for Electricity Suppliers
Based on the draft of the energy efficiency act this study evaluates the annual reduction target of 0.6 percent of final energy sales for suppliers of electricity. These requirements will lead to cost reductions for consumers through energy savings on the one hand, on the other hand additional expenditures for measures taken by the suppliers of electricity that induce the required energy savings are necessary. It is to be expected that in net total the cost reductions through lower electricity demand are not outweighing the additional costs for electricity suppliers and electricity consumers in the period 2014-2020.
