A Focus for Tourism Strategy in 2015: Pointing Austrian Tourism Towards More Growth and Employment
The study analyses the key determinants of competition faced by Austria as a tourist destination, developing on this basis a catalogue of tourism-policy measures that will contain the loss of Austrian market share and improve its competitive position. At the core of the growth strategy are efforts to increase the degree of internationalisation and extend year-round tourism by harmonising subsidies and research policies of the relevant decision-makers in tourism policy. Their activities could be co-ordinated by the federal government, preferably through a custom-made tourism law.
