Productivity and inclusive growth
The study presents the relationship between productivity and inclusive growth at the general, theoretical-conceptual level and serves to prepare a best practice analysis in the policy fields of competition, public investment, investment promotion and innovation. In the first part, the (unequal) productivity development in most industrialised countries and its causes are described on the basis of theoretical and empirical literature and an overview of the policy fields relevant for the promotion of inclusive productivity growth is given. In the second part, the starting points and instruments as well as their impact channels in the three policy fields are presented. In the third part, an analytical framework for classifying best practice examples in the three policy fields is developed in order to assess the impact of such examples with regard to the target dimensions "productivity" and "inclusivity" as well as at the level of companies and regions.
