The Economic Contribution of Tourism in the Ötztal

The study focuses on the regional economic significance of tourism in Sölden in 2023. The nominal tourist expenditure of visitors to Sölden amounted to an estimated €423 million. According to WIFO's model calculation, this local tourism consumption contributed to the domestic economic performance throughout Austria with a total added value (direct, indirect, and induced) of €361 million (at current prices). The companies associated with tourism consumption in Sölden thus employed a total of 3,700 full-time equivalents or around 4,500 jobs directly, indirectly, and induced in 2023.
