Slight Downturn in the Regional Economy

The Economy in the Federal Provinces in the Second Quarter of 2023
Despite easing inflation in recent months, the Austrian economy in 2023 continues to be characterised by the enormous price increases as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, as well as the key interest rate hikes. The slowdown in the second quarter varied regionally but was felt in all federal provinces. The regional labour markets were relatively robust in the face of the economic slowdown.
