The results of an nationwide study by WIFO, IHS and Joanneum Research are now available and demonstrate the economic and social "return on investment" of basic research funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF).

Which positive effects do investments in FWF-funded basic research have for Austria as a business location? What recommendations can be derived for innovation and research policy? What can be learned from successful examples that manage to transform scientific findings into innovations for the economy and society?
