Sustainability Frameworks of European Public Employment Services
The transition to climate-friendly and environmentally sustainable practices in raw material exploration, production, processing, logistics, distribution and recycling – urgently called for by both the EU and individual member countries – affects not only labour market policy but also, among others, education, industrial, social, climate, environmental and economic policy. Against the background of the European Green Deal, the question arises as to how the new funds from the EU budget can be effectively deployed for labour market policy programmes, measures and initiatives, and what contribution Austrian labour market policy and the Public Employment Service (AMS) can make to the socio-ecological transformation. In this context, the aim of the present study is a comparative analysis of approaches taken by selected European Public Employment Services (PES) to supporting the Green Deal and associated sustainability frameworks.
