Economic Recovery is Broadening – Heterogeneous Regional Development Continues

Regional economic developments in Austria's federal provinces remained heterogeneous in the fourth quarter of 2025. The emerging recovery in manufacturing benefits mostly industrially oriented provinces, while persistent weakness in construction weighs on many regions. Tourism strongholds recorded strong gains in overnight stays. The labour market remained strained overall, with marked regional differences in employment and unemployment dynamics.
