Childcare and Labour Force Participation in Tyrol

The project for Public Employment Service Tyrol aims to examine in detail how mobility and childcare costs affect the labour force participation of individuals with caregiving responsibilities in Tyrol, using a mixed-methods approach comprising contextual analysis, quantitative and qualitative surveys, as well as good practice research. It will analyse regional differences between urban and rural areas, along with the influence of values, educational attainment level, partner involvement, and family support. The project will also explore the role of financial subsidies, the quality of childcare services, and the specific needs of single parents compared with couple households. Finally, it considers differences in the use of childcare, according to household income and mobility options, in order to identify reasons for limited employment despite existing services.
