Ex-ante Analysis of Extending the Use of Integration Subsidy for Older Unemployed Persons under Action 55+

As part of the Austrian federal government's offensive measures, the 55+ initiative to promote the employment of older unemployed people is to be implemented. This will also involve expanding the targeted use of the integration subsidy for this target group. Ex-ante analyses provide indications of the extent to which the use of integration subsidy for older unemployed persons could be expanded and for which target groups this would be appropriate. To this end, the use of integration subsidy will be analysed, the development of the extent and structure of unemployment among older workers will be simulated for the coming years, and, based on this, a possible scenario for the use of additional funding for an accessible target group of unemployed persons aged 55 and over will be drawn up.
