Remote Work and the Change in Office Supplies Requirements for Austrian Companies

Work from home and hybrid working models are leading companies to change their office concepts. This is having an impact on the office property market. A special survey was conducted to assess these changes for Austria. The results show that around 20.8 percent of employees in the companies surveyed work from home at least part of the time, but there are differences depending on sector and company size. Companies in the service sector and larger companies make greater use of home offices and have therefore adapted and changed their office space to a greater extent. However, in terms of changes to office space, the results show that home offices have only had a limited impact. In contrast to Germany in particular, fewer companies are planning to reduce their office space due to home offices.
